Hello Viewlands Families!

It was a fun-filled week with field trips, celebrations, and FIELD DAY! We now have only 3 school days left in the 2025-2026 school year.

Today we ended the week with field day 2025! While the weather was a little chilly, that did not stop the fun! Music, dancing, water play, tug-o-war, hula hooping, and many other fun activities. This day always feels joyous with laughter, smiles, and friends having a great time together. THANK YOU to VEPTSA for the support with field day. THANK YOU to Coach Lauren for organizing field day. THANK YOU to the MANY VOLUNTEERS that were here to help field day be a big success! A special shout out to kindergarten parent, known around here as Mr. Murphy for showcasing some amazing juggling skills too!

On Thursday evening this week, we had our kindergarten celebration! This brings joy and smiles to everyone. Our youngest orcas sang beautifully and dazzled families! They are ready for 1^st grade! We love to celebrate the end of kindergarten as it is that transition year from preschool to elementary grades. Thank you to all the families that were able to join us for this wonderful celebration.

Earlier in the week our 4^th and 5^th graders did their theater performances for each other, showcasing their fractured fairytales of their own creation. There was incredible participation by most of our students, team collaboration, and hilarious acting skills. 5^th grader in Mr. Arango’s class, Abel, projected as the narrator with a booming voice that showcased all the emotions drawing everyone into the story. There were so many examples of brilliance in the performances. Thank you to VEPTSA for supporting this enrichment program!

A reminder that if your family is moving and changing schools so your child would not be returning to Viewlands, please reach out to the office team, Ms. Lin and Ms. Leandra as soon as possible. This helps us prepare for next school year and most importantly wish your child and family well in next adventures. We always want to say goodbye to our orca students and make sure they know they will be missed! Every student leaves a mark on Viewlands! We say, “Once an orca, always an orca!”

Your children are bright, inquisitive, and creative thinkers. We will continue to seek ways to make every student feel known, valued, and empowered through the year.

Last Call – Lost and Found

The lost and found is up in the 3^rd floor hallway just inside the entry way. If you child is missing items, please come take a look next week. This is the last call for the lost and found. The items will be donated and/or exchanged with another school after the last day of school.

Yearbooks

Yearbooks will be going home with students next week! Thank you to kind donations of families, every student will receive a yearbook. Thank you to everyone that donated a yearbook! We appreciate you!

Last Week of School

Classroom teachers will share information about any classroom specific activities, like fieldtrips, writing celebrations, or other celebrations that might be happening in their classroom this last month of school. If you have questions about classroom activities, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Below are some of the cross-grade level activities that are part of our end of year activities.

• Tuesday June 17^th and Wednesday June 18^th – Yearbooks and End of Year Progress Reports will be sent home with students. If your child will not be here on those days, please notify the classroom teacher and Ms. Lin.
• Tuesday June 17^th 9:00-10AM 5^th Grade Promotion followed by Carkeek Celebration 10:30-1:30PM This is open to families of our 5^th grade students
• Wednesday June 18^th – Last day of School, dismissal at 1:25PM.

We will honor this last day with our final all school assembly in the morning to celebrate our community and the learning and fun we had together this school year!

Next School Year Information

Next week I will send out a final Friday Update for this school year. It will include some information about next school year and the flow of communications. This will also include information about school supplies for next year, when you will receive information about classroom assignment, and when you can expect additional communications. In addition, I am working with school staff and VEPTSA to schedule events and activities for next school year so will include a few save the dates.

¡Hola familias de Viewlands!

¡Fue una semana llena de diversión con excursiones, celebraciones y DÍA DE CAMPO! Ahora solo nos quedan 3 días escolares en el año escolar 2025-2026.

¡Hoy terminamos la semana con el día de campo 2025! Si bien el clima fue un poco frío, ¡eso no detuvo la diversión! Música, baile, juegos acuáticos, tira y afloja, hula hooping y muchas otras actividades divertidas. Este día siempre se siente alegre con risas, sonrisas y amigos que se lo pasan muy bien juntos. GRACIAS a VEPTSA por el apoyo con el día de campo. GRACIAS a la entrenadora Lauren por organizar el día de campo. ¡GRACIAS a los MUCHOS VOLUNTARIOS que estuvieron aquí para ayudar a que el día de campo fuera un gran éxito! ¡Un agradecimiento especial a los padres de jardín de infantes, conocido aquí como el Sr. Murphy por mostrar también algunas habilidades increíbles de malabarismo!

¡El jueves por la noche de esta semana, tuvimos nuestra celebración de jardín de infantes! Esto trae alegría y sonrisas a todos. ¡Nuestras orcas más jóvenes cantaron maravillosamente y deslumbraron a las familias! ¡Están listos para 1er grado! Nos encanta celebrar el final del jardín de infantes, ya que es el año de transición de los grados preescolar a los de primaria. Gracias a todas las familias que pudieron acompañarnos en esta maravillosa celebración.

A principios de la semana, nuestros alumnos de 4º y 5º grado hicieron sus actuaciones teatrales el uno para el otro, mostrando sus cuentos de hadas fracturados de su propia creación. Hubo una participación increíble por parte de la mayoría de nuestros estudiantes, colaboración en equipo y habilidades de actuación hilarantes. Abel, estudiante de 5º grado de la clase del Sr. Arango, se proyectó como narrador con una voz retumbante que mostraba todas las emociones que atraían a todos a la historia. Hubo muchos ejemplos de brillantez en las actuaciones. ¡Gracias a VEPTSA por apoyar este programa de enriquecimiento!

Un recordatorio de que si su familia se muda y cambia de escuela para que su hijo no regrese a Viewlands, comuníquese con el equipo de la oficina, la Sra. Lin y la Sra. Leandra lo antes posible. Esto nos ayuda a prepararnos para el próximo año escolar y, lo que es más importante, le deseamos lo mejor a su hijo y a su familia en las próximas aventuras. ¡Siempre queremos despedirnos de nuestros estudiantes de orcas y asegurarnos de que sepan que los extrañaremos! ¡Cada estudiante deja una huella en Viewlands! Decimos: “¡Una vez una orca, siempre una orca!”

Sus hijos son pensadores brillantes, curiosos y creativos. Continuaremos buscando formas de hacer que cada estudiante se sienta conocido, valorado y empoderado durante todo el año.

Última Llamada – Objetos Perdidos

Los objetos perdidos están en el pasillo del 3er piso, justo dentro de la entrada. Si a su hijo le faltan artículos, venga a echar un vistazo la próxima semana. Esta es la última llamada para los perdidos y encontrados. Los artículos serán donados y/o intercambiados con otra escuela después del último día de clases.

Anuarios

¡Los anuarios se irán a casa con los estudiantes la próxima semana! Gracias a las amables donaciones de las familias, cada estudiante recibirá un anuario. ¡Gracias a todos los que donaron un anuario! ¡Te apreciamos!

Última semana de clases

Los maestros del aula compartirán información sobre cualquier actividad específica del aula, como excursiones, celebraciones de escritura u otras celebraciones que puedan estar sucediendo en su salón de clases este último mes de clases. Si tiene preguntas sobre las actividades del aula, comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo.

A continuación se presentan algunas de las actividades de nivel transversal que forman parte de nuestras actividades de fin de año.

• Martes 17 y miércoles 18 de junio – Los anuarios y los informes de progreso de fin de año se enviarán a casa con los estudiantes. Si su hijo no estará aquí en esos días, notifique al maestro del salón de clases y a la Sra. Lin.
• Martes 17 de junio 9:00-10AM Promoción de 5º grado seguida de Celebración Carkeek 10:30-1:30PM Esto está abierto a las familias de nuestros estudiantes de 5º grado
• Miércoles 18 de junio – Último día de clases, salida a la 1:25 p.m.

¡Honraremos este último día con nuestra asamblea final de toda la escuela por la mañana para celebrar a nuestra comunidad y el aprendizaje y la diversión que tuvimos juntos este año escolar!

Información sobre el próximo año escolar

La próxima semana enviaré una actualización final de los viernes para este año escolar. Incluirá información sobre el próximo año escolar y el flujo de comunicaciones. Esto también incluirá información sobre los útiles escolares para el próximo año, cuándo recibirá información sobre las tareas en el aula y cuándo puede esperar comunicaciones adicionales. Además, estoy trabajando con el personal de la escuela y VEPTSA para programar eventos y actividades para el próximo año escolar, por lo que incluiré algunas fechas para guardar las fechas.
